Installing Foreign Language Fonts in Microsoft IE 5.5 & IE 6.0

You need to install the appropriate foreign language font if you are viewing a web page in a foreign language and the characters are displayed as small boxes or unreadable.

The installation of Foreign Language Fonts may require the Installation Disk for your operating system (eg Windows 98, Windows NT or Windows 2000). Please have it available prior to beginning this process.

STEP 1: Turn Auto-Select on

  • On the View menu in Internet Explorer, point to Encoding, make sure Auto-Select has a check mark. If it doesn't, click it.

STEP 2: Select language encoding for Web page

  • On the View menu, point to Encoding, point to More, click appropriate language.
If prompted to download language support components, click Download.
